Chardonnay 2013 wins gold medal

The 2013 Coward & Black Chardonnay has been awarded a Gold medal by Australia’s leading wine Judge, James Halliday.

With a score of 94 points it sits in the highest bracket of Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion rankings. This bracket is reserved for wines he describes as “Outstanding. Wines of the highest quality, often with a distinguished pedigree.”

In his tasting notes he wrote:

“Fermented and matured in new French oak for 9 months, but still pale in colour; the grapefruit and white peach fruit has absorbed the oak to an astonishing degree, the palate long and intense. Not typical of Margaret River, but an impressive chardonnay with a long life ahead.”

This is the highest score we have achieved.  The fruit for this wine is 100% estate grown on the vineyard in front of Providore in Margaret River.

The Chardonnay 2013 is currently available for purchase at $28.50 per bottle, through either our online store or cellar doors in Margaret River or the Swan Valley. See in-store for case specials or in-house promotions
