Our History

Coffee & Chocolate

Officially launched in 2022, The Margaret River Coffee Company actually had its genesis almost 25 years earlier when the owners of The Margaret River Chocolate Company registered both names with a plan to do chocolate first and coffee shortly thereafter.

However the chocolate business took off so quickly that it was all they could focus on for the first 10 years and by the time they had a look at coffee again, the world was changing with the introduction of the widely available Nespresso machine and pods.

Established in 2020

By the early 2020 the coffee company had created an identity and had sourced Australia-made, compostable pods to set it apart from the now crowded market, but then along came COVID.

Roasting Begins

Finally in 2022 roasting began in Margaret River, using beans hand selected from around the globe and a vintage copper roasting machine from Turkey.

Our Range

Coffee Beans

Regularly roasted in small batches to produce a boutique range of premium coffee beans, with two different flavour blends.

  • Indijup: Bold flavours, rich chocolate and nutty undertones with a full-bodied finish
  • Wilyabrup: Balanced flavours, notes of caramel, dark chocolate and a subtle berry sweetness

Coffee Pods

Our innovative, Australian-made compostable coffee pods are compatible with Nespresso machines and unlike some pods, they will break down in just months – not years.
