My Kitchen Rules comes to Providore

The hit TV series “My Kitchen Rules” came to Margaret River recently scouting for a site to film an episode of their Award winning program. Th producers, alongside the team at Channel Seven, chose Providore as their favorite location to best showcase the South West region. We were lucky enough to have an episode filmed entirely on the property. The episode attracted over 1 million television viewers around Australia.

Freshly made jams, chutneys and dry goods in our kitchen were cleared out to make room for contestants and video cameras, film crew and lighting, directors and producers, and props and equipment galore! Our vegie patch was foraged in, our chickens greeted, our showroom taken over and our vineyards strolled amongst. It was a crazy 24 hours that brought together the very best of Providore with the bright and vibrant world of prime-time TV!

Seven teams remained at this stage of the competition when they arrived at Providore for the next kitchen showdown, however just five of the teams were to battle out the cooking challenge. Their task for this round – to create a meal in celebration of the 100 years of the WA Farmer’s Federation for… 100 Farmers. Teams had free range on our organic vegie garden and had the choice of Providore’s olive oils, table olives, balsamic vinegars and verjuice from the MKR pantry! To make these delicious items a feature in your pantry at home visit our online shop.

Of course the dashing Pete Evans and cheeky Manu Feildel were here too! Pete tweeted “Loving Margaret River” with some great snaps of our vegie garden shortly after his visit (see here). And yes, Manu was as cheeky and as handsome as on TV for all you fans out there J

Overall, the whole MKR experience was a fantastic one! We are thrilled to have been able to host the MKR team during their Western Australian wanderings and have been able to showcase all that is wonderful about Margaret River to an Australia wide audience.
